entering in to the field of Teacher Education from the NCTE

Mission
The mission of Padmavathi Institute of Teacher Training is
to make the trainees well groomed and professionally competent
to provide their best to the students.
The Course
Diploma in Teacher Education (D.T.Ed.). The course is a
co-educational one and it follows
non-semester system. The Course is approved by the Government of
India's National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE),
Bangalore. The medium of instruction is Tamil. The duration of
the course is 2 years. The course is also approved by
Directorate Teacher Education, Research & training (DTERT),
Tamil Nadu.
Syllabus
It is prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Teaching
Practice All trainees shall undergo an intensive teaching
practice cum observation classes for 40 days in each year in the
schools allotted.
Examination
The examination will be conducted by the Directorate of
Government Examinations, Govt. of Tamilnadu at the end of each
academic year.
Eligibility
Applicants should have passed the +2 , H.Sc. or its
equivalent with a minimum of 45% of n aggregate. For S.C. and
S.T. applicants, a pass in the examination.
Age Limit
Applicants should have completed 17 years and should not
exceed 25 years as on 1st June. For S.C. and S.T. applicants,
the age limit is 3O years. The maximum age limit is 40 years for
orphans, destitute and widows.
Conditions of Admission
 Candidates shall submit the original certificates at the
time of admission.
Students shall pay the fees in time as per the rules of the
management and if he I she fails to
complete the training,
he/she shall pay the entire fees due for 2 years.
If any information
provided by the trainee is found false at
anytime, he! she shall be liable to forfeit his/her seat
and
removed from the roll of the institution whatever be the stage
of the study, besides
making him/her liable for criminal
prosecution.
In the event of getting admission in the training programme,
the candidates shall participate
in all the curricular, co-curriculum
and extra-curricular activities needed for the training.
Library
The library has been designed to cater the needs of student
and staff members. It is fully
furnished on par with modern library standards. The library's
treasure of books number around 3500. It subscribes to a number
of national level journals and periodicals.
Hostels
The Institute has hostels for men and women separately in
permanent buildings for the convenience of outstation students.
Mess and canteen facilities are also available for the inmates
at reasonable rates.
